Question 1: Who is eligible for NTSE?
Answer: The candidates who are studying in class 10th from recognized schools are entitled to appear in NTSE stage 1. Also, the students from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Navodaya Vidyalaya, and Sainik School can apply for NTSE from the state where their school is situated.
Question 2: Is NTSE only for class 10?
Answer: Yes, the student studying in Class 10th from a government recognized school appear applicable to appear for the NTSE Exam paper. Also, Open Distance Learning (ODL) Students are also eligible. Moreover, the age of the student must be below 18 years. But, the previously employed candidates cannot appear for the NTSE exam.
Question 3: Is there a negative marking?
Answer: Yes if the student attempts a wrong question, then â…“th (or one-third) marks will be deducted. Therefore, for every wrong attempt, there is a negative marking.
Question 4: How many exams are there in the NTSE?
Answer: There are two stages of the NTSE exam, the first stage (STSE – State Talent Search Examination) is the state level. Then, after the student clears stage -1, they are eligible to write Stage- II.
